While Mellon Collie is an achievement in it's own right, and the moment Jimmy Chamberlin really fucking shined, it was severely bloated. Like I said, Siamese Dream really honed it in and perfected their sound by leaning less into the psychedelics of Gish and more into that meaty guitar.

It only got grander (and bloated) from then on. There are zero growing pains with these guys. I branched out from that and touched on the rest of their output when they were in the height of their success and I must say: Gish is severely underrated because, just like Led Zeppelin's 1, they came out of the gate as a fully formed band and sound. Siamese Dream is, without a doubt, their masterpiece. I have been on an SP reevaluation the past week or so.
